About the Role
Our client seeks a General Ledger Accountant to join their team in Singapore, enhancing their financial reporting and month-end closing processes. This role involves safeguarding the accuracy of the general ledger, ensuring adherence to US GAAP, and supporting both internal and external financial reporting demands.
Key Responsibilities
- Compile journal entries, profit and loss statements, month-end closing reports, and cost evaluations.
- Conduct reconciliations of the general ledger with proper supporting documentation.
- Verify the precision of financial transactions by collecting and analyzing data.
- Develop, execute, and uphold effective accounting controls and procedures.
- Supervise budgets by proposing appropriate levels and managing expenditures.
- Analyze financial reports to identify and explain deviations in revenue, expenses, and balance sheets.
- Liaise with various business units to resolve inconsistencies.
- Build and maintain collaborative relationships with finance teams and other functional departments.
- Assist in audit activities and ensure full compliance with GAAP, SOX, and internal policies.
- Oversee financial systems and databases, entering data accurately for reporting purposes.
- Define clear objectives and prioritize tasks efficiently to meet deadlines.
Candidate Requirements
- A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline is mandatory.
- Possess between two to four years of pertinent accounting experience.
- Hold ACCA certification or an equivalent professional accounting qualification.
- Experience with Oracle Financials or other ERP systems is preferable.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, general ledger management, and financial report preparation.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with Microsoft Access considered advantageous.
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and dedication to meeting deadlines.
