Full-time Steward - Halifax

Position Summary

Under the supervision of the Sous Chef(s) and Chef de Cuisine, the Steward's central responsibility is to uphold cleanliness standards throughout all kitchen areas, including dishwashing, food prepping, cooking spaces, and storage zones. This role requires full alignment with Casino Nova Scotia’s culture focused on delivering exceptional entertainment experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Clean various kitchen utensils, dishes, and equipment thoroughly.
• Operate dishwashing machinery and handle cleaning chemicals safely.
• Complete all assigned tasks efficiently, accurately, and comply with health, safety, and food regulations.
• Maintain top-quality service for both internal team members and external guests.
• Approach work with a positive and playful attitude, balancing professionalism with enjoyment.
• Stay attentive and focused to be fully present during shifts.
• Contribute to creating a memorable entertainment experience ensuring guests have an excellent day.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum completion of Grade 12 or equivalent is preferred.
• Ability to lift weights up to 25 kilograms is essential.
• Energetic and capable of handling fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
• Knowledge of WHMIS is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Previous experience in stewarding roles will be considered a plus.
• Strong multitasking and organizational abilities.
• Thrives working collaboratively within a team setting.
• Willingness to work flexible hours and various shifts.
• Personable, detail-oriented, enthusiastic, and outgoing demeanor.

Work Environment

• Work occurs regularly in casino and cage environments.
• Involves extended periods of standing or sitting.
• Hours may be non-traditional and varied.
