About the Role
Paintgun is a creative agency that specializes in producing paid social ads designed to deliver measurable business growth. The team sits at the overlap of creative strategy, performance marketing, and production, helping brands build advertising that converts rather than simply looks good.
This opportunity is for a Copywriter who has practical, hands-on experience with social-first creative work, particularly UGC-style content and organic social storytelling. The ideal candidate understands how content needs to perform on TikTok, Instagram Reels, Meta, and YouTube Shorts, and can craft hooks, scripts, and concepts that feel natural in the feed.
This is not a conventional brand copywriting position. The role is intended for someone who has genuine experience creating or scripting UGC and organic social content.
Responsibilities
- Create UGC scripts for paid social campaigns across TikTok, Meta, and other short-form video platforms.
- Develop social-first concepts, attention-grabbing hooks, ad angles, and video structures that are built to drive conversions.
- Work closely with creative strategists, editors, creators, and media buyers to strengthen ad results.
- Update copy and messaging rapidly using performance data and creative testing feedback.
- Support organic social content brainstorming whenever needed.
Requirements
- Demonstrated, practical experience writing for social-first video content.
- Strong prior work specifically in UGC scriptwriting.
- Solid understanding of TikTok- and Reels-style pacing, hooks, retention, and creator-led storytelling.
- Ability to write direct-response copy that still feels natural, authentic, and platform-appropriate.
- A portfolio or work samples showing relevant UGC or organic social content is required.
- Experience with paid social is helpful, though not mandatory.
