Forklift Operator

About the Role

We are seeking a diligent Forklift Operator to join the Logistics team at our Ladyswell Brewery site in Cork. This role involves operating forklift equipment safely and efficiently to manage the movement, storage, loading, and unloading of finished goods. The position plays a key part in supporting daily logistics functions while maintaining top standards for safety, quality, productivity, and collaboration.

Working Hours

• Shifts are scheduled between 7:00 AM and 11:00 PM with flexibility to work across all shift patterns.
• Overtime and weekend shifts may be necessary based on business needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate forklift trucks to transport goods within the site.
• Load and unload vehicles adhering to company protocols.
• Keep stock movements accurate by using warehouse management systems and handheld devices.
• Maintain orderly housekeeping in the logistics yard and optimise use of trailers, loading bays, and storage areas.
• Perform daily checks on forklift machinery and report defects immediately.
• Comply with all Health & Safety policies and site regulations.
• Support inventory counts and efforts to ensure stock accuracy.
• Collaborate closely with warehouse, transport, production, and customer service teams.
• Participate in continuous improvement projects within logistics.

Health & Safety

• Strict adherence to all safety standards and wearing required PPE at all times.
• Prompt reporting of hazards, near misses, and incidents.
• Operate equipment only with appropriate training and authorization.
• Contribute to a safe environment for everyone onsite.

Performance Metrics

• Safety compliance and active involvement in TPM activities.
• Accuracy in loading, unloading, and stock management.
• Effective use of space and operational productivity.
• Damage minimisation and excellent customer service.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Valid Forklift Truck License (minimum Counterbalance).
• Prior experience in warehouse, logistics, or manufacturing settings.
• Strong knowledge of Health & Safety requirements.
• Teamwork capability and solid communication skills.
• Basic IT proficiency for system usage.
• Flexibility to cover various shift patterns.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in fast-moving consumer goods, brewing, or beverage logistics sectors.
• Reach Truck license holder.
• Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems.
• Background in continuous improvement or TPM methodologies.
