Foreman - Warehouse Operations

Job Overview

This role involves managing the coordination of material flow between the warehouse and production floor, supervising warehouse personnel, ensuring accurate and timely processing of inventory transactions, and maintaining high standards of safety and organization within the warehouse.

Primary Responsibilities

• Oversee daily transfer of materials between the warehouse and the manufacturing shop floor.
• Supervise material handlers and helpers responsible for loading, unloading, and internal material handling operations.
• Ensure prompt issuance of raw materials and receipt of finished or returned goods.
• Liaise closely with departments such as production, planning, and quality assurance to fulfill operational requirements.
• Execute precise material transactions within ERP or similar inventory management systems.
• Maintain comprehensive records regarding material transfers, stock movements, and related paperwork.
• Monitor inventory levels, alerting supervisors to shortages or inconsistencies.
• Ensure correct storage practices, material identification, and adherence to FIFO (First In First Out) or FEFO (First Expired First Out) methodologies where relevant.
• Support inventory audits including cycle counts and physical stocktaking.
• Promote cleanliness and uphold safety protocols throughout warehouse operations.
• Report promptly any operational challenges, delays, or discrepancies to the Warehouse Supervisor.
• Contribute to warehouse process enhancements and strive to maintain inventory precision.

Qualifications and Skills

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline is preferred.
• At least 3 to 5 years of practical experience in warehouse operations, ideally within a manufacturing setting.
• Proven experience collaborating with production and shop floor teams.
• Proficiency with ERP platforms such as Xpedeon, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or their equivalents.
• Strong understanding of warehouse documentation standards and inventory control methods.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills.
• Effective organizational and planning capabilities.
• Basic competence in computer use and relevant ERP software.
• Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in system data entry.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure meeting production deadlines.
• Leadership qualities to manage and guide warehouse support staff.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
