Role Overview
The Food and Beverage Assistant position is a part-time, on-site role based in Oakville, Ontario, supporting the daily food and beverage operations within Staybridge Suites®. Responsibilities include setting up and replenishing the breakfast buffet and other refreshments, ensuring the service area remains clean, safe, and compliant. The assistant will welcome guests, provide information about menu items, and deliver service oriented toward enhancing the guest dining experience. Additional tasks involve basic food preparation, assisting with inventory management and stock rotation, adhering to food safety and hygiene standards, and collaborating with the hotel team to uphold guest satisfaction and brand guidelines.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Competence in food preparation and service, including buffet setup and presentation.
- Strong customer service skills to engage courteously and meet guest needs promptly.
- Familiarity with food and beverage operations, supporting buffet servicing, item replenishment, and cleanliness protocols.
- Effective communication skills for clear interactions with team members and guests.
- Previous experience in hospitality or food service environments is beneficial.
- Physical capability to stand for long durations and lift light to moderate weights for setup tasks.
- Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards; formal certification is advantageous.
- Availability to work flexible shifts including early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
