Role Overview
Orbital Critical Systems, part of the CAF Group, develops safety-critical software for the aerospace, defence, and transport sectors. The company is hiring Flight Test Engineers to work on-site in Airbus-related projects across Germany.
Work Locations
Opportunities are available in Manching, Taufkirchen, Hamburg, Bremen, Ulm, Donauwörth, Immenstaad, Finkenwerder, and other locations in Germany.
What the Job Involves
- Plan and carry out avionics ground and flight testing, including the creation and use of test procedures and programs.
- Track aircraft test outputs, evaluate the findings, and document any anomalies or departures from expected results.
- Contribute to the creation and improvement of tools used for test data evaluation.
- Work side by side with design, development, and testing teams within Airbus Defence and Space.
Candidate Profile
- A degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a closely related discipline is required.
- Hands-on exposure to FPGA development and associated design tools is expected; candidates from broader technical backgrounds may also be considered.
- English at B2 level or higher is needed, while German language ability is an added advantage.
- The role suits someone eager to build expertise in flight test instrumentation and safety-critical engineering environments.
Compensation and Benefits
The annual salary range is aligned with German market standards and is stated as €57,000 to €65,000. The package also includes support in securing accommodation, German language training, relocation and administrative assistance, and coverage of the cost of the first year’s German tax return. The position comes with a permanent German employment contract and is tied to long-term projects.
