About the Role
Portal Biotech is seeking a Finance Assistant to handle daily financial operations within their expanding startup environment. This role offers hands-on experience, providing an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives on varied tasks and wants to enhance their finance skills in a dynamic setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage purchase invoice processing including obtaining timely approvals
- Handle supplier payments and execute weekly payment runs efficiently
- Record and reconcile credit card transactions and employee expenses
- Assist in bank reconciliations and keep track of cash flows
- Support month-end activities such as accruals, prepayments, and journal entries
- Maintain precise financial records using Xero software, transitioning soon to Sage Intacct
- Aid in expense processing and payroll administration as needed
- Contribute to the enhancement of finance procedures as the company grows
Candidate Profile
- Possess 1 to 3 years of experience in Accounts or Finance Assistant roles
- Sound knowledge of accounts payable and receivable processes
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities
- Proficient with Excel and accounting programs like Xero and Sage
- Proactive, dependable, and eager to engage in various tasks
- Studying for or interested in starting an AAT qualification is advantageous
