About the role
EY is seeking an External Security Vetting Services Personnel Vetting Quality Assurance specialist to join its team and strengthen the quality of personnel security clearance work across a range of case types, from Baseline through to PV. This position plays an important part in raising and maintaining quality standards within the vetting function.
The role combines quality assurance oversight, support for complex cases, trend analysis, and capability building. You will help refine QA processes, support vetters with challenging assessments, and contribute to the development of analysts through coaching, training, and mentoring. The organisation also notes that working arrangements may be adjusted flexibly and/or to reduced hours where appropriate.
This position is advertised as a hybrid opportunity and may be based in Melbourne, Perth, Canberra, Brisbane, or Sydney.
Key responsibilities
- Carry out continuous quality checks on assigned personnel vetting cases, from Baseline to PV, in line with EY and agency policies, procedures, and PSPF requirements.
- Support the management of the QA workload, maintain QA-related policies and procedures, and contribute to quality measurement and reporting.
- Deliver coaching, updates, and training based on patterns identified through QA activity, while supporting ongoing development of current and experienced vetting analysts.
- Provide practical assistance on complex matters so vetting analysts can progress and complete difficult cases.
- Prepare and present reporting on training results, quality indicators against agreed KPIs, and recommended improvements for senior leaders.
- Keep up to date with sector developments, effective practices, and quality/performance trends to shape training approaches and priority areas.
Requirements
- Current Negative Vetting Level 1 clearance, with the ability to upgrade to Negative Vetting Level 2 if needed.
- Certificate IV in Government (Personnel Security Vetting).
- Proven experience in personnel vetting and quality assurance in government or similarly secure environments.
- Background in training or upskilling personnel vetting staff on processes, tools, systems, and performance expectations.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to carefully review large volumes of information to identify potential security concerns.
