Executive Vice President, Global Engineering

Position Overview

This opportunity is for an Executive Vice President of Global Engineering based in the United States. This top engineering leadership role is responsible for defining and executing the technology vision and operational strategy across a worldwide engineering organization. The role encompasses leadership of software engineering, infrastructure, quality assurance, and platform modernization efforts on a large scale. The focus is on leveraging AI-driven transformations, accelerating legacy platform modernization, and preparing the organization for future technological advancements.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to the global engineering functions including software development, quality assurance, DevOps, and infrastructure teams across diverse regions.
• Develop and implement a multi-year technology strategy that aligns with business goals, supports product expansion, scalability, and meets customer demands.
• Champion the integration of agentic AI practices throughout the software development lifecycle, covering development, testing, documentation, deployment, and monitoring activities.
• Lead AI-powered modernization efforts such as reverse engineering legacy systems, automated documentation, behavioral testing, and expedited platform migration.
• Oversee the progression of cloud-native platforms while strategically managing legacy system consolidation and retirement.
• Make critical decisions in architecture concerning platform design, shared services, scalability, security, compliance, and multi-tenancy.
• Manage cloud infrastructure consolidation projects including migration planning, execution, cost reduction, and operational enhancements.
• Transform quality assurance and release operations by implementing automation, continuous integration and delivery, continuous testing, and rapid deployment methodologies.
• Establish engineering performance metrics, KPIs, and processes to drive productivity, predictability, quality, and accountability.
• Build and cultivate a high-performing global engineering workforce through focused talent development, leadership growth, and organizational structuring.
• Optimize global engineering operations, managing cross-regional collaboration, resource distribution, and vendor relationships.
• Collaborate with product, sales, customer success, and executive leadership to synchronize technology initiatives with business priorities.
• Represent the technology division in customer engagements, strategic conversations, and business development forums.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in software engineering within sectors such as technology, SaaS, cybersecurity, or payments.
• At least 8 years in senior engineering leadership roles like VP of Engineering, SVP of Engineering, CTO, or equivalent positions.
• Hands-on expertise utilizing modern AI development tools and agentic AI workflows in production environments.
• Successful application of AI technologies for legacy system modernization including code analysis, documentation automation, testing, and migration acceleration.
• Experience leading engineering teams of over 150 professionals across multiple countries, with significant leadership of India-based teams.
• Proven track record managing global operational models encompassing the US, Europe, India, and additional international sites.
• Deep knowledge of large-scale architecture modernization, microservices, cloud-native platforms, and complex technological transformations.
• Demonstrated leadership of cloud migration and consolidation initiatives preferably using Google Cloud Platform or similar enterprise cloud solutions.
• Strong familiarity with agile frameworks and driving engineering organizations towards modern delivery and development practices.
• Experience establishing engineering metrics and leveraging data-driven approaches to enhance organizational effectiveness.
• Proven ability to restructure teams, develop leaders, enhance accountability, and foster high-performance cultures in engineering.
• Excellent executive communication skills suited for engaging with customers, senior executives, and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field required; advanced degrees highly valued.
• Preferred expertise in areas such as cybersecurity, compliance, fintech, high-volume data systems, private equity environments, M&A integration, or platform consolidation.
