Position Overview

The Estimator II role involves collaborating within an established estimating team to develop cost estimates for both domestic and international projects following standardized Worley procedures.

Responsibilities and Skills Required

• Apply the AACEI Estimate Classification system for Class 2 and Class 3 estimates and independently create all cost estimate types.
• Have deep proficiency with principles, methods, and practices of cost estimation.
• Convert engineering material take-offs (MTOs) into detailed estimate workbooks that cover capital expenditure costs aligned with pricing and construction unit hours.
• Develop project scope autonomously by interpreting P&IDs along with engineering and construction drawings.
• Understand field installation work hours relevant to Pipeline, Mechanical, Piping, Civil, Structural, Electrical, and Instrumentation disciplines.
• Break down estimates by construction work areas and packages.
• Leverage knowledge of the local supplier network to obtain vendor budgetary quotations.
• Create comprehensive Basis of Estimate (BOE) reports outlining assumptions and exclusions for Class 2 and Class 3 estimates.
• Communicate concepts effectively and contribute to proposal and presentation preparations.
• Possess strong troubleshooting ability for systems and processes related to fieldwork and support team members.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum 9 years of relevant experience in cost estimation roles.
• Extensive familiarity with cost estimation methodologies and tools.
• Proven ability to operate effectively in multicultural environments and address cost parameters for domestic and international projects.
• Willingness to learn and develop cost estimates across multiple direct and indirect disciplines.
• Experience performing peer reviews of estimates.
• Knowledge of estimation practices for Greenfield, Brownfield, and Modular project executions.
• Capable of supporting and enhancing estimating standards, procedures, systems, and benchmarking tools.
• Can make independent decisions under minimal supervision and manage complex tasks with problem-solving aptitude.
• Typically works with periodic supervision and receives guidance as needed, with supervisory oversight varying by project.
• Holds a full-time Bachelor of Engineering degree from an accredited university.
• Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to present information to groups and individuals.
• Demonstrates enthusiasm for stakeholder management and works collaboratively as a team player.
