Job description

Company Overview

We are a premier aerospace and defence cable manufacturing organization that specializes in designing, developing, and supplying highly reliable electrical cable assemblies and wiring solutions. Our products comply with stringent quality, safety, and regulatory standards applicable to defence, aerospace, and other critical mission sectors.

Role Summary

The Electrical Quality Engineer will be accountable for ensuring that the entire manufacturing lifecycle—covering electrical cable production, in-process inspections, final product verification, and documentation—meets customer expectations, industry norms, and mandatory regulations. This position demands meticulous attention to detail, advanced quality assurance expertise, and a strong ability to operate within a heavily regulated aerospace and defence setting.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee and guarantee the quality of products throughout the electrical cable manufacturing cycle.
  • Perform incoming material inspections, in-process evaluations, and final checks on electrical cables, wiring harnesses, and related assemblies.
  • Validate conformity with technical specifications, engineering drawings, customer demands, and quality benchmarks.
  • Document quality data comprehensively including inspection records, non-conformance reports (NCRs), corrective and preventive action plans (CAPA), and rejection logs.
  • Support in root cause investigations and implementation of corrective and preventive measures for quality deficiencies.
  • Liaise effectively with production, design, procurement, and warehouse teams to resolve quality-related challenges.
  • Conduct scheduled audits for processes, products, and production lines as defined in the quality plan.
  • Maintain and ensure proper calibration and utilization of testing instruments and measurement tools.
  • Update and manage quality documentation to comply with aerospace and defence regulatory criteria.
  • Provide assistance during customer and third-party audits, inspections, and specialized process validations.
  • Monitor and enhance supplier quality performance and engage in vendor development initiatives.
  • Ensure strict adherence to ISO, AS standards, and other customer-specific quality requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts aimed at minimizing defects and elevating process capabilities.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants should hold a Diploma, Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.), or Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in Electrical, Electronics, or a related technical field.

Experience Requirements

Candidates must possess between 3 to 7 years of relevant experience in quality assurance or quality control within electrical manufacturing, cable harness production, wiring, or a similar industry segment.

Preferred Skills and Expertise

  • Familiarity with aerospace and defence manufacturing standards and regulations.
  • Experience with cable production, wire harness assembly processes, and electrical testing methods.
  • Proficient in quality management tools such as the seven QC tools, 5 Why analysis, Fishbone diagrams, and CAPA techniques.
  • Knowledge of inspection protocols, test procedures, and quality documentation maintenance.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, wiring schematics, and detailed specifications.
  • Experience working with ERP systems and quality management software is beneficial.

Certifications

  • Awareness or certification in ISO 9001 / AS9100 quality standards.
  • Internal Auditor certification is a plus.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent quality certifications offer additional advantage.
  • Understanding of IPC standards and aerospace electrical regulations is desirable.

Competencies

  • Analytical mindset combined with problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent documentation and report generation skills.
  • Capability to coordinate across teams and take ownership.
  • High ethical standards and compliance focus.
