Job description
Overview
Join Dorset Police as a Safety Camera Operator stationed at Police Headquarters in Winfrith, Dorset. This permanent position involves working 37 hours per week, though part-time and flexible working arrangements may be accommodated based on operational requirements. Your primary mission will be to help decrease road traffic casualties by deploying and maintaining static and mobile safety cameras, as well as Speed Indication Devices and Vehicle Activated Signs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide initial assessments related to vehicle speed and manage mobile laser and camera-based speed detection systems.
- Conduct necessary technical tests and handle the installation and setup of static cameras and laser instruments.
- Capture digital photographs indicating vehicle positioning, equipment setup, and relevant signage placement.
- Process offenses related to speeding identified by both static cameras and mobile units.
- Deploy Speed Indication Devices (SID) and Vehicle Activated Signs (VAS) to support road safety initiatives.
