Director, Regulatory Compliance & Nutrition

Role Overview

As the Director of Regulatory Compliance & Nutrition at Inspire, you will spearhead the establishment and implementation of company-wide strategies, governance frameworks, and compliance standards related to regulatory and nutritional requirements. Your leadership ensures all product offerings, packaging, labeling, and marketing communications meet federal, state, local, and international regulations, safeguarding brand reputation and minimizing risks.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and direct enterprise-wide regulatory compliance and nutrition policies, building scalable governance systems that align with current and evolving U.S. and global standards.
• Act as the principal regulatory and nutrition expert advising leadership on legislative changes, risk mitigation, and market trends, transforming complex regulations into strategic business initiatives.
• Develop and manage processes for nutritional analysis, product specifications, labelling, and consumer disclosures that enable compliance while fostering innovation.
• Collaborate closely with R&D, Marketing, Legal, Supply Chain, and Brand teams, ensuring regulatory and nutrition factors are embedded in product development and communications.
• Continuously monitor regulatory developments, competitive activities, and public health guidelines to anticipate and respond to potential impacts.
• Craft and present executive-level updates, risk evaluations, and forecasts to support informed leadership decisions.
• Define nutrition standards and provide enterprise direction supporting menu optimization and long-term portfolio plans; track adherence and progress.
• Manage relationships with external regulatory consultants and industry organizations such as the National Restaurant Association; represent Inspire in internal food policy groups and external forums.
• Oversee and authorize retail packaging, labeling, advertising, and related materials to ensure uniform regulatory compliance across brands and territories.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, preferably Nutrition or a related discipline; advanced degrees and Registered Dietitian (RD) certification are preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of advancing experience in food industry regulatory compliance, nutrition, or quality assurance.
• Proven history of managing enterprise-wide or multi-brand regulatory strategies and leading high-performing teams.
• Strong capability to influence senior leaders and align cross-functional teams.

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in nutrition science, nutritional content, ingredient labeling, allergen disclosures, claims compliance, and food regulations.
• In-depth understanding of FDA Code of Federal Regulations concerning food labeling, manufacturing, and retail including Nutrition Facts Panels and ingredient statements.
• Experience assessing and approving food packaging and labels for compliance.
• Comprehensive knowledge of USDA Dietary Guidelines in relation to product and menu strategy.
• Familiarity with state, local, and international food laws, including collaboration with health departments and adherence to food codes.
• Proficiency in nutrition analysis tools such as ESHA Genesis.
• Participation in industry training and forums like AIB Labeling and National Restaurant Association Nutrition discussions.

Work Arrangement

This position is based at Inspire’s Global Support Center in Atlanta, GA, with an expectation to be physically present approximately 80% of the time.
