Role Overview
The Director of Supply Chain will oversee the Supply Chain teams across four Vantedge Medical locations (Wheeling, IL; Hudson, NH; Durham, CT; Wallington, CT). This leader will be pivotal in enhancing Sales & Operations Planning, production scheduling, purchasing, and logistics strategies site-wide. Ideal candidates will be analytical, collaborative, proactive in driving improvements, take ownership, and maintain high personal standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement supply chain process improvements and best practices to advance maturity across sites.
- Create and continuously improve a standardized, proactive S&OP framework integrating demand, supply, and financial planning among operations, supply chain, sales, and finance.
- Enhance forecasting accuracy, system use, and data governance to enable dependable decisions.
- Translate sales and operations plans into actionable production schedules, order commitments, and inventory management strategies to boost on-time delivery.
- Lead the establishment of KPIs, role definitions, and team capability-building to foster accountability and ongoing improvement.
- Optimize MRP usage by assessing current systems, ensuring accurate master data, and driving advanced planning tool integration.
- Manage production scheduling processes, including work order releases, sequencing, visual controls, accountability, and capacity planning across sites.
- Oversee purchasing operations and vendor performance, driving cost savings and participating in RFQs for new product introductions.
- Conduct quarterly supplier performance reviews and develop long-term commodity strategies aligned with business goals.
- Drive timely and efficient logistics execution with accuracy and process discipline.
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to identify and deploy site enhancements.
- Develop supply chain strategies, communicate clearly across teams, and lead consensus-driven execution.
- Coach and develop supply chain staff through structured talent development, clear role expectations, and training including conflict management and process standardization.
- Participate in strategic customer communication related to capacity and supply matters.
- Direct supervision of managers and planners within supply chain, planning, S&OP, logistics, and purchasing functions.
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, engineering, operations management, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in supply chain roles, including at least 5 years in planning.
- Proven expertise in building S&OP processes and optimizing MRP systems.
- Experience driving transformational change and leading organizational change management.
- Exceptional communication skills for internal and external stakeholder engagement, including conflict resolution.
- Strong ability to influence cross-functional teams and data-driven decision-making.
- Willingness to travel up to 15% primarily to Rancho Cordova and Stockton sites and supplier locations.
