About the Role
AGF Talent is recruiting a Director of Operations for a wellhead company located in the Midland-Odessa area of Texas, operating within the Permian Basin. This company is small but rapidly expanding and aims to elevate its operations to the next phase of growth. The ideal candidate will be an independent, hands-on leader who thrives in a lean environment without extensive corporate bureaucracy.
Key Responsibilities
- Overseeing day-to-day field operations to ensure smooth business progress.
- Recruiting and managing a growing team as the company expands.
- Regular travel across the Permian Basin to maintain close contact with field activities and clients.
- Making autonomous operational decisions without requiring constant approval.
- Handling varied tasks including operations management, staffing, and logistics.
- Developing and implementing systems and processes to support company scaling.
- Working intimately alongside the President, acting as a key operational partner rather than a subordinate.
Candidate Profile and Requirements
- Proven leadership experience with a track record of managing teams and delivering results.
- Prior experience in the oil and gas industry is essential.
- Preference for candidates with wellhead industry knowledge.
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently within the Permian Basin.
- Comfortable working in a small company setting lacking extensive support personnel.
- Capable of working independently and making sound decisions without extensive guidance.
- Experience in hiring and team-building is required.
- A college degree is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Military experience is considered a plus but is optional.
