About Space Kinetic Corp.
Space Kinetic Corp. is pioneering a new approach to space operations by developing innovative space technology that leverages proliferated drone technology, allowing for low-cost, flexible, distributed missions that reduce dependence on consumable fuel. The company's focus is on creating a revolutionary 'one-to-many' satellite architecture where each satellite can deploy numerous payloads at high speeds without thruster use, stepping beyond traditional single-payload satellite models.
Role Overview
This demanding role centers on driving government and business development efforts, specifically within the U.S. government and national security sectors. The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying and winning new government contracts, fostering relationships within defense and intelligence agencies, and steering the capture and growth of business aligned with the company’s strategic goals. Collaboration across internal teams and with external partners is critical to success.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and pursue government business opportunities linked to the company’s technologies and strategic priorities.
- Establish and deepen relationships with stakeholders from the Department of Defense, U.S. Space Force, U.S. Air Force, and Intelligence Community.
- Gain detailed knowledge of customer missions, acquisition processes, budgets, and market trends.
- Maintain a strategic pipeline detailing opportunity potential, acquisition timelines, and stakeholders.
- Design and implement customer engagement strategies, account and capture plans for priority organizations.
- Lead bidding processes from initial customer contact to contract award, including proposal development and negotiations.
- Coordinate responses to government solicitations such as requests for information and proposals.
- Collaborate with engineering, program management, finance, contracts, and leadership to assure technically feasible solutions.
- Represent the company at government meetings, conferences, and industry events to communicate capabilities and value propositions effectively.
- Translate customer feedback and market intelligence into actionable insights guiding product development and company strategy.
- Develop and manage strategic partnerships, teaming agreements, and subcontracting alliances to expand opportunities.
- Track government budgets, acquisition activities, competitive actions, and policy shifts impacting the market.
- Provide leadership with comprehensive forecasts, market analyses, and strategic recommendations.
- Promote ongoing improvements in business development systems, reporting, and workflows.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Public Policy, International Affairs, National Security, or related disciplines.
- At least 7 years of experience in government business development, capture management, defense programs, or related areas.
- Proven track record engaging with Department of Defense, U.S. Space Force, U.S. Air Force, Intelligence Community, or similar agencies.
- Expertise in government acquisition, budgeting, contracts, and procurement processes.
- Experience creating capture plans, proposals, white papers, and business development presentations.
- Strong ability to comprehend complex technical topics and communicate them to diverse audiences.
- Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and teamwork skills.
Preferred Experience
- 10+ years in aerospace, defense, space, national security, or advanced technology sectors.
- Proven success in leading government capture efforts and securing contracts.
- Experience with government acquisition mechanisms like OTAs, SBIR/STTR projects, BAAs, IDIQs, and FAR contracts.
- Familiarity with complex aerospace, spacecraft, defense hardware, or software systems.
Work Location and Travel
The role is based onsite at the headquarters in El Segundo, CA, with domestic travel required between 25% and 40% annually.

Compensation Range
