Overview
The Digital Monitoring and Intelligence Officer is responsible for overseeing the Group's digital media presence by analyzing online conversations, media references, search trends, and audience sentiment to generate actionable intelligence that safeguards the organization's reputation.
Core Responsibilities
- Continuously track online news platforms, social media channels, blogs, forums, search engine results, and other digital outlets for mentions related to the Group, its subsidiaries, leadership team, products, operations, and key topics.
- Evaluate the tone, themes, reach, and velocity of digital discussions to differentiate routine chatter from significant reputation risks.
- Compile concise intelligence reports—daily, weekly, monthly, and issue-specific—that outline major narratives, involved stakeholders, potential risks, opportunities, and recommended strategic actions.
- Identify early indicators such as misinformation, fake accounts, impersonation, cyber-squatting, coordinated negative campaigns, and unusual activity spikes, documenting thorough evidence records.
- Escalate high-risk digital findings rapidly based on established thresholds to the Group's Head of New Media and pertinent parties, maintaining detailed issue and escalation logs.
- Support crisis communications by providing real-time monitoring, situation updates, and post-event analyses during emergencies, important announcements, and key events.
- Monitor competitor and industry digital activities to detect communication trends, benchmark best practices, and spot emerging reputational issues within the sector.
- Manage and enhance queries, dashboards, taxonomies, and report templates to ensure the accuracy of monitoring data and standardize measurement metrics.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Mass Communication, Public Relations, Marketing, Data Analytics, Research, Social Sciences, Information Management, or related fields.
- Minimum of four years' professional experience in social listening, media monitoring, digital research, reputation intelligence, communications analytics, or analogous roles.
- Practical proficiency using social listening, media monitoring platforms, search tools, and analytics software.
Professional Skills
- Expertise in sentiment, narrative, trend, and issue analysis.
- Capability to assess reputation-related risks and communicate escalations promptly and clearly.
- Skilled in developing dashboards, interpreting data, and producing insightful reports.
- Competent in fact-checking, validating information sources, and maintaining evidence integrity.
