Overview
The Digital Communications Officer role supports the implementation of Chelsea FC Foundation’s communications strategy by managing diverse digital communication activities both internally and externally. The position is based primarily at Stamford Bridge with occasional work at Cobham as needed.
Key Duties
- Produce high-quality written content, including website articles, that effectively communicate the impact of Chelsea FC Foundation’s initiatives for internal and external audiences.
- Keep all internal and external communication platforms such as the website and newsletters current and aligned with the Foundation's strategic aims.
- Create engaging digital content including social media posts and supporting visual assets for Chelsea FC Foundation’s channels.
- Manage the planning, development, and deployment of digital communication materials, ensuring brand consistency and adherence to guidelines.
- Maintain the Foundation’s digital asset library, including images and graphics.
- Provide digital communication support to all Foundation departments by producing content focused on impact.
- Conduct administrative responsibilities and research tasks relevant to communication activities, including developing detailed communications plans.
- Participate in meetings internally and externally to foster robust relationships with key departments and stakeholders.
Person Specification and Requirements
- Substantial experience in digital communications, preferably within sports and/or the charity sector.
- Proficiency in website management and CMS, alongside familiarity with tools such as Adobe Creative Suite and Canva.
- A strong passion for football and the societal role of sports, with excellent storytelling ability.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including copywriting, proofreading, and research abilities.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Experience collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, managing expectations professionally.
- Ability to handle sensitive issues discreetly and maintain confidentiality.
- Strong IT skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Additional Information
This is a permanent role with a standard 35-hour workweek, requiring occasional evening or weekend work for events or matchday support, typically about once per month with time off in lieu offered.
