Role Overview

We are seeking a strategic and creative Digital Communications Manager to enhance our digital presence and raise our profile among funders, government officials, partners, and the global health community. Reporting to the Director, Communications, this role will lead Living Goods' digital strategy across social media, websites, email, and emerging platforms. The role requires strong storytelling fused with data analytics to boost engagement, promote thought leadership, and support advocacy and organizational goals. Additionally, the manager will safeguard the refreshed Living Goods brand to ensure uniformity across digital channels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive digital communications plan aligned with organizational priorities.
  • Manage the digital content calendar and coordinate content creation with teams across countries.
  • Identify and capitalize on opportunities to increase engagement and visibility with key stakeholders.
  • Create and edit high-quality multi-format digital content including articles, social posts, newsletters, videos, and campaigns.
  • Oversee internal and external newsletters and emails through platforms like Mailchimp.
  • Translate complex technical and policy material into clear, accessible narratives for external audiences.
  • Manage content pipelines in partnership with country teams to source stories, data, and multimedia assets.
  • Lead social media strategy and daily management across LinkedIn, X, Facebook, Instagram, and new platforms.
  • Develop tailored content to target distinct audiences such as funders, government entities, and partners, utilizing data-driven insights to optimize engagement.
  • Monitor channels for reputation and crisis management, enabling swift communication responses.
  • Manage and enhance Living Goods' website, collaborating with developers for improved UX, SEO, and current, engaging content.
  • Ensure brand consistency and quality across digital assets, collaborating with external vendors on graphics and video content.
  • Support communications related to major global health events, organizational campaigns, and senior leader engagement on digital platforms.
  • Provide staff training and guidance on digital communications best practices and maintain digital communication standards.
  • Organize and upload outreach assets to external and internal platforms such as Vimeo, Flickr, and YouTube.

Experience and Skills Required

  • At least 7 years of professional experience in digital communications, marketing, or related areas, with extensive responsibility for website and social media management.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling abilities able to simplify complex information for varied audiences.
  • Proven success in executing digital communications strategies and campaigns.
  • Strong knowledge of social media platforms, audience targeting, engagement tactics, and content optimization techniques.
  • Experienced with website content management systems, preferably WordPress, and SEO best practices.
  • Proficient with digital analytics tools such as Google Analytics and native social media insights to measure and improve performance.
  • Background in international development, public health, nonprofit, or government sectors is advantageous.

Technical Skills

  • Advanced skills in Canva, PowerPoint, and email marketing tools like Mailchimp; Adobe Creative Suite experience beneficial.
  • Ability to create and edit basic multimedia content including short videos and graphics.
  • Responsible use of AI tools to enhance research, analytics, and workflow efficiency.

Education and Language

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Digital Media, Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations, or related fields.
  • Fluent in English; knowledge of French is a plus.
