Datacenter Operations Specialist

Overview

This role entails the management and technical support for data center operations, including installation and maintenance of server equipment and leading customer and relocation projects.

Key Duties

• Install, relocate, and remove server hardware within the data center environment.
• Take charge and lead customer projects as well as complex relocation assignments.
• Provide on-the-job training to Data Center Operations Engineers.
• Support customers managing their own racks and servers within the data center.
• Analyze operational data to recommend improvements to processes to the local team manager.
• Perform upgrades or downgrades on server components such as memory and hard drives.
• Replace hardware and handle the corresponding administrative tasks.
• Conduct testing of servers and related equipment adhering to quality standards.
• Collaborate with remote hands partners across the APAC region for server installation and adjustments.

Requirements

• Several years of practical experience working hands-on with data center servers.
• Proficient in various operating systems with strong emphasis on Linux.
• Comprehensive knowledge of server hardware including switches, KVM, hard drives, and memory.
• Understanding of networking concepts including DNS, IP configuration, netmask, and gateways.
• Possess a degree or certification in Computer Science or related technology-focused discipline.
• Additional language skills such as Mandarin, Cantonese, and/or Japanese are advantageous.
• Basic familiarity with SAP systems would be considered a plus.
