Role Overview
As a Data Scientist within our central Data Science Team, you will passionately contribute to upholding our leading role in the fashion and lifestyle sector by developing and refining predictive models aligned with our status as a global omnichannel department store.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and enhance digital products while conducting analyses that continually strengthen our customer relationships.
- Participate actively in the development of business processes and collaborate closely with partners to design data science tools.
- Manage your products throughout the entire lifecycle, from the initial concept to implementation.
- Engage in professional knowledge exchange with fellow data scientists within Breuninger.
Qualifications
- Completed academic degree in a quantitative or data-centric discipline such as Mathematics, Data Science, Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a comparable field.
- Proficiency in Python for data analysis and capability to craft complex database queries using SQL; experience with Google BigQuery is an advantage.
- Hands-on experience with machine learning frameworks including XGBoost, LightGBM, CatBoost, Scikit-learn, or deep learning libraries like PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Jax; familiarity with cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Azure, or AWS is preferred.
- Knowledge or eagerness to explore modern AI coding assistants and workflows, integrating them effectively into daily tasks.
- Experience working within agile environments and ability to quickly adapt to evolving requirements.
- A strong drive to deliver superior solutions exceeding the expectations of both internal stakeholders and end customers.
- Fluency in English at a professional level; German language skills are advantageous.
Team Environment
You will join a motivated, friendly team currently consisting of eight members, characterized by openness and collaboration. The team values remote working flexibility combined with enjoyable in-person interactions. Embedded within Data Platform Services, the team works directly with data at its origin in a cloud environment, cooperating with Data Engineers, Modelers, and Cloud Engineers to derive value from data.
