Data Engineer (Innovation)

About the Role

This role is for an experienced Data Engineer focused on innovation, with 6+ years in the field. The position centers on building, evolving, and supporting data pipelines that enable AI-driven work.

Key Responsibilities

• Work closely with data scientists to clarify data needs and make sure the required data is available and dependable.
• Develop data transformation and processing workflows that ready information for analysis and model training.
• Keep data pipelines running efficiently by improving their speed, resilience, and ability to scale.
• Keep up with new developments, tools, and best practices in data engineering.
• Help shape low-level technical design so it fits the broader solution and business objectives.
• Operate within an agile team, breaking down user stories into actionable implementation tasks.
• Continuously look for improved frameworks, tools, and processes that can make the team more productive.
• Take ownership of the quality and completeness of your own deliverables from start to finish.
• Communicate clearly and consistently with teammates throughout the full implementation cycle.

Experience and Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a similar discipline.
• At least 6 years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a closely related position.
• Prior exposure to the airline sector or another related industry is preferred.
• Strong hands-on experience with programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala.
• Practical knowledge of data processing frameworks like Apache Spark.
• Solid understanding of databases and SQL.
• Experience with cloud services such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is an added advantage.
