Role overview
This contract position is for a data centre infrastructure technical analyst based onsite in Singapore. The role focuses on hands-on support for enterprise data centre environments, including hardware, network and SAN infrastructure, cabling, carrier circuits, and related facility coordination.
Required background
Applicants should bring at least 3 years of experience working with data centre facilities, hardware, communications infrastructure, support methods, and troubleshooting approaches. A solid foundation in enterprise data centre environments is important, including PDUs, RPPs, network systems, and SAN setups.
The role also calls for strong familiarity with complex enterprise inter-networked environments that combine switched and routed Ethernet, TwinAx across speeds such as 100GigE, 25GigE, 10GigE, GigE, 100M, and 10M, as well as token ring, SAN, and WAN connectivity. Strong knowledge of WAN technologies, including OC-x and DS-x, along with subnetting and TCP/IP, is essential.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required, along with experience using trouble ticketing systems, change control processes, and project-related tools. Candidates should also be comfortable applying structured problem-solving methods across system, data centre facility, and telecommunications contexts. Project management experience is expected, and experience in the financial services sector is considered an advantage.
Key responsibilities
The position involves supporting the installation, removal, relocation, extension, and testing of infrastructure across data centres, while staying within internal service-level requirements.
- Install, remove, and relocate distributed systems and network hardware such as CSUs, DSUs, routers, switches, encryptors, and firewalls across Americas data centres.
- Install, remove, extend, relocate, and test carrier circuits connected to network equipment.
- Handle patch cabling work for systems and network hardware, including installation, removal, and relocation.
- Move and manage data centre hardware as required.
- Work with facilities, electrical, and communications vendors to coordinate cabinet power, circuit, and patch infrastructure installations.
- Support coordination of network component configurations.
- Coordinate and install SAN cabling infrastructure.
- Oversee network port usage and help manage consumables such as cables, labels, tie wraps, and rail kits.
