Overview
Under the supervision of the Manager of Financial Systems and Analytics, this position is responsible for converting raw clinical, operational, and financial datasets into meaningful business insights. The analyst develops, implements, and maintains data pipelines, dashboards, and reporting tools for an outpatient imaging network. Collaboration with IT personnel, radiologists, and clinical employees is key to enhancing operational efficiency and monitoring critical metrics including equipment usage, referral trends, and patient wait periods.
Key Duties and Responsibilities

- Ensure strict adherence to HIPAA, data security protocols, and relevant federal and state laws across all reporting tools, embedding compliance in daily analysis and findings presentation.
- Create and update dynamic dashboards that monitor key performance indicators.
- Execute data extraction, transformation, and loading from systems including Electronic Health Records (EHR), Radiology Information Systems (RIS), and Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS).
- Develop automated reporting mechanisms to analyze metrics such as machine usage, imaging volume patterns, denial rates, and patient throughput times.
- Conduct requested analyses of various clinical programs by collaborating with clinical directors and executives to gather business needs and tailor analytical deliverables.
- Verify data accuracy and perform root-cause investigations on any discrepancies encountered.
- Advocate for and recommend updates or alterations to computerized systems as needed.
- Complete special projects with accuracy and timeliness as designated.
- Serve as a resource and support to staff members.
- Maintain professionalism in all interactions.
- Participate in meetings when called upon.
- Carry out additional tasks as assigned.
Experience and Skills Required
- A minimum of three years’ experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or data engineering, preferably within the healthcare field.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word including Access database skills.
- Expertise in writing, debugging, and refining complex SQL queries.
- Competence with data visualization software such as Power BI, Tableau, or equivalents.
- Understanding of healthcare data standards and workflows, including familiarity with medical terminologies and coding systems like HL7, DICOM, CPT, and ICD-10.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities with the capacity for independent prioritization and workload management.
- Meticulous attention to detail, especially when handling sensitive clinical and financial information.
Educational Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Healthcare Informatics, or a closely related discipline is required.
Physical Requirements
