Key responsibilities

• Build, improve, and support automated workflows for bringing data into the organisation, including ETL and ingestion processes.
• Clean, reshape, and combine datasets from different sources to ensure high-quality, reliable information.
• Work with stakeholders to understand business needs and turn them into useful analytical outputs.
• Create dashboards that help operations and management make evidence-based decisions, including tools such as Learner InsightsHub and Analytics in Education.
• Carry out in-depth analysis to support strategic work, such as finding the main factors behind learner success.
• Set up and manage data connections and access controls while working with IT and security teams to maintain strong governance practices.
• Promote better data literacy across NYP so colleagues can use data more confidently in their decision-making.

What the team is looking for

• A qualification in a quantitative discipline such as Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
• Proven experience creating dashboards and visualisations with Power BI.
• Strong SQL skills for querying and handling data.
• Experience using Python for analysis and automation.
• Practical exposure to ETL development and data pipeline work.
• Knowledge of Power BI, Databricks, or similar data lakehouse platforms is an advantage.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, and close attention to detail.
• Good spoken and written communication skills, plus the ability to work well with different teams and explain technical ideas to non-technical audiences.
• A collaborative and proactive approach to spotting and resolving data issues across departments.
