Cyber Defense Associate

Role overview

Accenture Middle East is looking for a Cyber Defense Associate to support day-to-day security monitoring and help protect systems, users, and data from cyber threats.

Key responsibilities

• Keep a close watch on alerts generated by security platforms such as SIEM, antivirus, endpoint protection, firewall, and email security tools.
• Evaluate suspicious events, including phishing attempts, malware warnings, and attempts at unauthorized access, and route them for further action when needed.
• Support initial incident response work by gathering evidence, recording observations, and assisting with containment and remediation activities.
• Carry out routine security checks and prepare reports for operational review.
• Help with user access reviews to make sure permissions align with company policy.
• Assist with vulnerability tracking and follow up on remediation progress for open issues.
• Maintain accurate cybersecurity records, logs, and incident documentation.
• Follow established procedures for security monitoring, investigation, and escalation.
• Contribute to compliance with internal security standards and applicable regulatory obligations.
• Coordinate with IT teams to help resolve security-related problems.

Requirements

• Diploma in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, Networking, or a related discipline.
• Foundational knowledge of core cybersecurity concepts, including malware, phishing, firewalls, vulnerabilities, and access control.
• Basic understanding of networking fundamentals such as IP addresses, DNS, VPN, TCP/IP, and ports.
• Comfort working with Windows operating systems and performing basic IT troubleshooting.
• Clear communication and strong documentation skills.
• Willingness to work in shifts if the role requires it.
• Careful attention to detail and a strong desire to learn.
