Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Credit Risk Analyst to join as a contract resource, working remotely. This role offers a compensation range of $100 to $200 per hour with a weekly commitment between 10 and 40 hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize extensive expertise in credit and debt investment to evaluate diverse credit instruments such as high yield bonds, leveraged loans, and structured credit products.
- Perform comprehensive underwriting and due diligence by evaluating capital structures, covenants, and liquidity to support strong investment decisions.
- Create and enhance financial models including cash flow, three-statement, leveraged buyout (LBO), as well as downside and stress-case scenarios for assessing default and refinancing risks along with sponsor quality.
- Examine credit spreads, yields, and relative value propositions across both public and private credit markets to maximize risk-adjusted portfolio returns.
- Analyze detailed legal documents focusing on covenant terms and protective measures related to various credit agreements.
- Work closely with the client’s team to deliver clear, precise written and verbal analyses to aid investment strategy formulation.
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in credit investing, underwriting, leveraged finance, or similar roles with hands-on involvement in transactions and investment recommendations.
- Strong expertise in analyzing cash flow statements, debt arrangements, covenants, and liquidity considerations specific to leveraged and private credit investments.
- Advanced proficiency in financial modeling techniques including comprehensive 3-statement, LBO, and stress testing models.
- In-depth knowledge of default and recovery risk assessments, refinancing vulnerabilities, and evaluating sponsor credibility.
- Capability to analyze market spreads, yields, and relative value to support portfolio optimization for risk-adjusted returns.
