About the Role
The Ministry of Justice invites applications for the position of Court Registry Officer (CRO) based at the Whangārei District and High Court. This is a full-time, fixed-term role lasting until 30 June 2027. Successful candidates will play an integral role in ensuring the smooth functioning of the District Court by working collaboratively with Judges, legal representatives, law enforcement, Oranga Tamariki, defendants, witnesses, and family members.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitating Court Proceedings: Assisting in the court's smooth operation, which includes introducing Judges in both English and Te Reo Māori, supporting Judges in courtrooms and their chambers, and managing general court administration tasks.
- Customer Service: Providing assistance at the court's customer service hub by responding to inquiries face-to-face, over the phone, or via email related to court matters.
- Case Management: Maintaining accurate and current court files, ensuring all judiciary members and involved parties have the necessary information, and coordinating logistics to guarantee that cases proceed in a timely and efficient manner.

Compensation
The salary range for this position is from $60,729 to $80,794 annually, with exact remuneration determined by the applicant’s skills and experience.
