Job Purpose
This position focuses on overseeing land freight logistics within the cluster. Key responsibilities entail managing vehicle dispatch, ensuring timely shipment deliveries, maintaining precise operational records, and supporting the overall logistics workflow.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Schedule and allocate vehicles as per requests, ensuring compliance with required specifications.
- Communicate assignments and pertinent details to drivers, monitoring task completion and timely updates.
- Gather comprehensive transportation requirements prior to vehicle arrangements.
- Reduce vehicle wait times, increase the number of trips per vehicle, and ensure prompt processing of driver incentives and task closures.
- Design transport routes, choose appropriate transport modes, and monitor shipments for punctual and cost-efficient delivery.
- Collaborate effectively with service providers to guarantee smooth transportation operations and on-time arrivals.
- Establish and maintain performance indicators, prepare work schedules, and oversee delivery timetables.
- Address customer queries, track delivery progress, and manage complaints promptly and professionally.
- Ensure renewal of necessary permits and certifications for drivers and vehicles in a timely manner.
- Keep accurate records of vehicle assets, control fuel expenses, and generate detailed reports on vehicle usage and performance.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum educational qualification: High school diploma or equivalent, with preference for additional credentials in logistics or business administration.
- Experience: 3 to 4 years in logistics or supply chain roles.
- Language proficiency: Basic reading, writing, arithmetic, and communication skills in English.
- Capability to work flexible hours and shifts.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong organizational and multitasking skillset.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Familiarity with transportation management systems or comparable logistics software.
- Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in handling data.
