Overview
As a Cook II at Courtyard by Marriott located in Jubail, Saudi Arabia, you will play a vital role in preparing and cooking ingredients to the hotel's culinary standards. This non-management position involves preparing cold and hot dishes, operating kitchen appliances, and maintaining cleanliness and safety in the kitchen.
Job Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients by portioning, chopping, washing, peeling, weighing, and mixing food items following recipes and quality standards.
- Cook and present meals according to food preparation checklists and presentation guidelines.
- Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers safely and efficiently.
- Test food items to ensure thorough cooking and maintain food quality throughout preparation.
- Set up and dismantle workstations, serve food in appropriate portions and plates, and clean all kitchen areas, tools, and equipment after use.
- Monitor appliance and food temperatures consistently, ensuring safety and quality compliance.
- Adhere strictly to all company policies, safety regulations, and security procedures while reporting any maintenance or safety concerns to management.
- Maintain professional personal appearance and confidentiality of proprietary information.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with colleagues and contribute to a positive team environment.
- Engage in physical activities such as standing, walking, bending, lifting, and moving objects up to 25 pounds during shifts.
- Perform any other reasonable duties assigned by supervisors.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D. preferred).
- Work Experience: Minimum one year of relevant experience in cooking or food preparation.
- Supervisory Experience: Not required.
- Certifications: No specific licensing or certification required.
