About the Role
Join one of the nation’s premier and rapidly expanding auction houses as a Consignment Director specializing in exceptional timepieces. Heritage Auctions connects collectors globally with rare and historically important watches. Based out of our Chicago office, you will contribute in a fast-paced, collaborative environment that values expertise, relationship building, and market knowledge to bring extraordinary watches to a worldwide audience.
Key Responsibilities
- Secure high-quality consignments from private collectors, trade dealers, and retailers.
- Oversee the vetting process to assess condition and authenticate consigned items.
- Write and proofread catalog descriptions and marketing materials for auctions.
- Promote specific consignments to valued clients effectively.
- Negotiate contractual terms with clients.
- Review financial settlements and wire transactions.
- Participate in trade shows and conventions to gain consignments and develop strategic client partnerships.
Qualifications and Skills
- At least 5 years of professional experience as a watch dealer or similar role in a major auction house focused on watches and fine timepieces.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Excellent multitasking abilities and attention to detail.
- Positive attitude combined with outstanding customer service skills.
- Public speaking ability is advantageous.
