Competence Center Payment Sr Associate

About the Role

This position is responsible for ensuring that eligible liabilities are processed for payment without delays and for handling payment rejections through to resolution. The role sits within a finance operations environment focused on payment accuracy, control checks, reconciliations, and coordination with internal teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out pre-payment controls before automated payment runs, review F-110 monitoring after payment proposal and execution, and use the weekly VMD quality macro to identify and prevent potential payment issues in coordination with business-oriented teams.
• Prepare and process manual payment proposals based on incoming requests.
• Track payment rejections and returned payments, resolve them within the defined SLA, and complete daily as well as monthly Circula reconciliations to support month-end closing timelines.
• Update Vendor Master Data records whenever data inconsistencies are found.
• Respond to and support stakeholder queries related to payments.
• Take part in UAT and regression testing activities, including FRC cycles when needed.
• Review and clear overdue open items within the approved threshold for the compliant category.
• Work with business focal points to address error management, quality checks, and payment accuracy, with the aim of improving KPI performance.
• Partner with CM, Treasury, and the legal entity team to improve payment frequency, increase automation, and reduce manual work.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate should hold a degree in business administration, accounting, finance, or a related field and bring 3 to 5 years of experience in finance operations. Prior exposure to treasury or payment execution activities is considered an advantage. Strong analytical ability, problem-solving skills, and clear communication are essential.
