Role Overview
The Compensation Lead will oversee the full management of Affirm’s compensation platforms such as Radford for survey reporting and Pave for compensation cycle management. This role is pivotal in ensuring compensation programs comply with Affirm's policies and remain competitive and effective. Attention to detail and analytical rigor are essential qualities for success in this position.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer semiannual compensation processes from start to finish.
- Participate in and develop annual compensation studies to assess Affirm’s position in the competitive market, including auditing role definitions, responsibilities, and requirements.
- Lead the benchmarking survey submissions and reviews, recommending any adjustments to cash and equity compensation ranges and structures.
- Perform ad hoc compensation data analyses involving incentive pay, equity programs, and pay equity.
- Manage pay reporting for the different geographies Affirm operates within.
- Support compensation-related training sessions and communications efforts.
Qualifications and Skills
- At least 5 years of experience in compensation or people analytics.
- Familiarity with compensation management systems, with preference for experience using Pave.
- Strong data analysis skills and an analytical mindset to transform raw datasets into meaningful insights using tools like Excel, Google Sheets, Sigma Computing, and Claude Code.
- Excellent attention to detail and accountability, with the ability to operate independently and collaboratively.
- Team-oriented with effective communication skills to work across various internal departments and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrates sound judgment and integrity, handling sensitive and confidential information professionally.
- Proven capacity to analyze complex data involving multiple factors.
- Effective verbal and written communication abilities to simplify complex concepts for employees and senior leadership.
- Strong organizational skills capable of juggling multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Customer service experience.
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance for compensation plans and programs.
Compensation Information
The position falls under Pay Grade K and Equity Grade 4. New hires typically start at the lower end of the pay range. Affirm emphasizes a transparent, straightforward pay structure factoring in location, experience, and relevant skills. The Canadian base salary range is $112,000 to $172,000 annually. Total compensation includes possible equity rewards, monthly stipends for health, wellness, and technology expenses, and benefits with fully subsidized medical, dental, and vision coverage for employees and their dependents.
Work Arrangement
This is a remote-first role based in Canada, allowing employees to work from nearly anywhere within the country. Some roles may require occasional onsite presence depending on job responsibilities.
