Role Overview
The position of Community Mobilizer is based at the Kolkata metropolitan area, specifically in Kestopur, and requires on-site engagement. This role involves actively connecting with local communities to raise awareness regarding training programs, encouraging community participation, and assisting in the organization and execution of community-driven activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage in outreach visits regularly to establish contact with local community members.
- Arrange and facilitate small gatherings and community events to foster communication and information dissemination.
- Gather feedback and basic field-level data from the community to support program improvements.
- Provide information about ongoing projects and available community services.
- Collaborate with local stakeholders such as community leaders, partner organizations, and government officials to enhance participation and inclusivity.
- Prepare and submit concise activity reports to aid organizational monitoring and learning.
Candidate Qualifications
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage various community members effectively.
- Excellent communication capabilities, including clarifying program details and actively listening to community input.
- A service-minded approach with customer service skills tailored to address community needs promptly and courteously.
- Experience or familiarity with community management, including coordinating local meetings and maintaining relationships within the community.
- Basic fluency in local languages spoken in Kolkata and working knowledge of English.
- Background or experience in grassroots development, social work, or community-based initiatives is advantageous.
- Willingness and ability to travel within the city to fulfill job duties.
- Minimum education requirement of completing high school; possession of a diploma or degree in social sciences, development studies, or similar disciplines is preferred.
