Role Overview
The role involves accurately matching paint colors to specified standards, ensuring precise tinting, conducting quality checks, and maintaining comprehensive records to support customer satisfaction and production goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers, providing expert technical advice.
- Assist customers by loading and unloading paint products.
- Collaborate with local distribution teams and perform site visits when necessary.
- Foster strong teamwork and relations among employees across all company locations.
- Support inventory management including cycle counts and stocktaking activities.
- Perform additional tasks assigned by management and assist other units during peak workloads.
- Offer administrative support to various teams as required.
- Tint paint batches to meet quality standards using brush-outs and computer predictions.
- Prepare color panels and conduct both visual and computerized verifications against approved standards, taking corrective steps when needed.
- Assess and accept or reject batches based on quality criteria.
- Maintain detailed test card and digital records for each batch processed.
- Promptly report any non-conformances to supervisors and departmental leaders.
- Manage tinter inventory through accurate stock sheets, weekly audits, and reconciliation with Sage 300 software.
- Plan daily tinting requirements and report any stock shortages promptly.
- Calibrate equipment regularly as scheduled and report discrepancies.
- Carry out bi-monthly audits of color standards.
- Uphold housekeeping and safety standards according to NOSA guidelines and use proper personal protective equipment.
- Keep quality documentation compliant with ISO standards.
- Dispatch color chip samples to customers and follow up on quotations and projects via telephone.
Qualifications and Skills
- Diploma in Sales or related field.
- Between 12 to 24 months experience relevant to the role.
- Proficient computer skills.
- Strong verbal communication capabilities.
- Effective time management skills.
- Ability to recognize and pursue new business opportunities.
- Excellent attentive listening skills.
