GTI Fabrication is a contract manufacturing partner that supports clients in renewable energy, power generation, infrastructure, and industrial systems sectors. The company specializes in fabricating custom-designed, purpose-built enclosures and skids and provides in-house mechanical and electrical integration to deliver comprehensive turnkey solutions. Their services span from engineering and prototype builds to full production, requiring teams that are fast-moving, adaptable, and precise.
GTI’s core values are Safety, Quality, Customer Obsession, Speed, and Agility.
Role Summary
The Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) is a newly established position aimed at embedding HR leadership within GTI’s Executive Leadership Team as the business scales towards a larger, multi-location organization. The CHRO will craft and lead the company-wide HR strategy and work closely with GTI’s HR Director to implement this strategy effectively across the company. This is an executive, hands-on role focused on influencing and shaping the company’s growth from within, rather than managing HR remotely.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the enterprise-wide HR strategy that aligns people investments with GTI’s growth objectives, revenue, and profitability targets.
- Act as a full member of the Executive Leadership Team, contributing to broader business strategy and decision-making beyond just HR.
- Collaborate closely with the HR Director, acting as a strategic partner and advocate while retaining ultimate responsibility for all HR activities, recruiting, and talent operations across all locations.
- Oversee executive talent management including hiring, onboarding, compensation structuring, performance evaluation, and succession planning for the executive leadership team and site managers.
- Lead organizational structure design suitable for a growing multi-site manufacturing business.
- Serve as the highest authority for escalation in challenging employee relations, legal risks, and compliance issues, working directly with the Legal department and CEO.
- Manage the company’s total rewards systems including compensation philosophy, incentive plans, and benefits strategies.
- Drive enterprise culture strategies, nurturing and preserving GTI’s five core values and the "Together We Win" ethos throughout organizational growth.
- Support the expansion of HR capabilities such as HRIS systems, analytics tools, organizational design, and scalable HR operating models for multiple plants.
- Report regularly to the CEO on workforce wellbeing, organizational risk factors, and progress in implementing the people strategy.
Qualifications and Experience
- At least 15 years of progressive HR leadership roles, including senior executive experience (VP, SVP, or CHRO level).
- A minimum of 10 years within manufacturing environments working across several sites.
- Proven expertise in building and growing HR functions and teams within rapidly expanding companies.
- Strong advisory experience with CEOs and executive teams regarding organizational design, executive recruitment, and succession planning.
- Comprehensive knowledge across the full HR discipline: compensation and rewards, talent acquisition, employee relations, regulatory compliance, and organizational development.
- Experience overseeing HR technology infrastructure (such as HRIS, ATS, and analytics) during company scaling phases.
- A bachelor’s degree is mandatory; an advanced degree (MBA or relevant) or HR certifications such as SPHR or SHRM-SCP are preferred.
- Exceptional communication and executive presence suitable for representing HR at the highest levels including the CEO and leadership team.
- Experience managing diverse workforces in manufacturing including skilled trades, professional, technical, and administrative personnel.
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently between GTI manufacturing sites.
Preferred Skills and Background
- Experience within industrial manufacturing, energy, infrastructure, or other capital-intensive sectors.
- Background working alongside founders or owner-operators in privately held businesses.
- Proven mentoring ability, developing high-potential HR leaders into executive roles.
- Track record in establishing or evolving company-wide values and culture at scale.
