Role Overview
The Cashier plays an essential role in delivering efficient, friendly, and accurate service to customers. Responsibilities include handling checkout and return transactions and overseeing the Self-Checkout area to ensure smooth customer flow.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform checkout and return transactions swiftly and accurately.
- Monitor and maintain the Self-Checkout stations for functionality and customer support.
- Continuously update product and project knowledge to provide customers with detailed information and identify opportunities for sales.
- Comply with company policies and procedures to reduce inventory shrinkage.
- For Head Cashiers: position and support other Cashiers, expedite price checks, approve Point of Sale transactions and markdowns across various service points including mainline registers, Self-Checkout, Returns, Pro Desk, Special Services, and Tool Rental.
- Handle first-level customer issue escalations and assist with training, coaching, and supervising Front End Associates.
Desired Qualifications
- At least one year of experience in a Cashier role preferred for Head Cashier candidates.
