Job description

Overview

The Case Manager role at Mediclinic City Hospital in Dubai involves overseeing the hospital's case management processes to ensure efficient patient care coordination while minimizing financial exposure to the organization. This position requires facilitating clear communication among all stakeholders and ensuring accurate, timely clinical data transfer.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate patient care plans effectively to reduce financial risks.
  • Manage and maintain high standards for clinical documentation quality.
  • Provide specialized clinical input to support insurance claim management and appropriate medical justifications aligned with best clinical practices.
  • Focus on continuous improvements in clinical documentation quality.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Essential: Bachelor's Degree in Medicine (Non-licensed Physician).
  • Certification in Clinical Coding (such as CCS, CCA, CPC, or CPMA).
  • Desired: Master's Degree in Healthcare Management from a recognized institution.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience in clinical, insurance, medical auditing, or coding roles within a DRG billing environment in the UAE, including at least 1 year in UAE healthcare.
  • Preferred experience includes working in Theatre and/or ICU settings, a background in medical insurance or funders, private healthcare environment experience, or experience as a paramedic.

Technical Skills & Knowledge

  • Application and knowledge of clinical coding systems including ICD-10 CM, CPT, and DRG.
  • Proficient computer skills, particularly MS Office Suite.
  • Experience with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and adherence to best practices related to them.
  • Knowledge of healthcare revenue cycle management and billing procedures.
  • Understanding scientific nursing processes and related healthcare procedures.
  • Familiarity with patient administration systems and hospital processes.
  • Insight into the patient journey within hospital settings and interaction points.
