About the Role
Drumcooley, located in Bray, is a residential facility supporting two female residents with a 2:1 staffing ratio. The residents lead enriched lives, actively participating in their community. This role offers an opportunity to join a compassionate team dedicated to delivering high-quality, individualized care.
Work Details
The position is full-time and permanent on a contract basis. Working hours will vary and include day shifts, sleepovers, weekends, and periods considered unsociable.
Primary Duties
- Implement a person-centered care approach aligned with clients' preferences and objectives.
- Uphold and respect the dignity, privacy, and rights of those supported, fostering their ability to make choices.
- Encourage and support clients to explore new interests and develop meaningful roles within their communities.
- Ensure comprehensive wellbeing of clients, attending to health and personal care needs.
- Assist in teaching life skills such as cooking, budgeting, cleaning, and building clients' confidence.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Must possess at least a Major QQI Level 5 healthcare qualification or a validated foreign equivalent.
- A deep passion for advocating and empowering the individuals supported.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Familiarity with HIQA standards and applicable legislation.
- Possession of a full driving licence and access to a vehicle.
- Experience working with adults with intellectual disabilities post-qualification is advantageous.
- Must have legal authorization to work in Ireland.
