Role Overview
We are seeking dedicated Canteen Assistants to join our team at the distribution centre located in Appleton, Warrington. This position is a full-time, permanent role that guarantees 30 hours of work per week with opportunities for overtime.
Work Schedule
- Afternoon shift: 12:00 to 20:00
- Night shift: 18:00 to 02:00
Compensation and Benefits
The hourly wage ranges from £13.69 to £14.85, depending on shift times, and is negotiable with the hiring manager. Benefits include six weeks of annual leave (pro-rated), staff discounts, and free life assurance.
Primary Duties
- Preparing both hot and cold meals.
- Cooking and serving meals at the counter.
- Handling deliveries and storing supplies in the kitchen.
- Restocking refrigerators.
- Cleaning kitchen utensils, appliances, and work surfaces.
Candidate Qualities
This fast-paced canteen environment requires individuals who can work independently and handle pressure effectively. Good communication, literacy, and numeracy skills are essential. Knowledge of food hygiene — ideally with a basic food hygiene qualification — along with awareness of workplace health and safety practices, is highly valued.
