Role Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Business Development Manager for Golf & Sporting Groups to join the team at Oaks Cypress Lakes Resort, home to one of Australia's most esteemed golf courses. This role focuses on expanding business opportunities for Oaks Cypress Lakes Resort and Elysia Wellness Retreat by cultivating strong client relationships and positioning the venues as premier destinations for golf and sporting group events.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement strategic sales plans to increase golf and sporting group clientele.
- Identify and nurture partnerships with golf clubs, sporting associations, educational institutions, and leisure travel sectors.
- Drive new business generation via proactive outreach, networking, and customized proposals.
- Work closely with resort operations, events, revenue management, and marketing teams to deliver top-tier group experiences.
- Represent the properties at trade fairs, industry conferences, and golf events.
- Conduct client meetings and property tours while maintaining comprehensive CRM records and accurate sales reports.
- Establish and strengthen strategic alliances with tourism and sporting bodies to enhance group booking and revenue streams.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Between 2 to 4 years of professional experience in business development or sales, preferably within golf, hospitality, tourism, or sporting sectors.
- Demonstrated success in meeting sales targets and expanding key client accounts.
- Exceptional communication, relationship management, and negotiation capabilities.
- Organizational proficiency with the ability to handle multiple tasks effectively.
- Self-driven with enthusiasm for delivering superior customer service experiences.
- Professional demeanor combined with a genuine passion for golf and sports-related events.
