About the Role
A well-established Canadian financial institution seeks an experienced Business Analyst III for a contract position within their Enterprise Capital Management team, part of Treasury and Balance Sheet Management (TBSM). This role supports critical regulatory capital reporting, operational processes, and key change management activities.
This position is maternity leave coverage lasting approximately 8 months, with thorough onboarding and training provided.
Job Responsibilities
- Support regulatory capital reporting procedures and business operations related to capital management.
- Oversee change initiatives across quarterly release cycles, managing requests, timelines, approvals, and stakeholder communications.
- Organize and lead meetings, governance forums, and stakeholder discussions.
- Coordinate production deployments, perform testing, validations, and resolve issues.
- Assist with production incident management and emergency change workflows.
- Collaborate closely with Finance, Treasury, Risk Management, Accounting, and Technology teams to gather and validate business requirements.
- Coordinate user acceptance testing and business validation ensuring consistency among various business units.
- Conduct monthly operational reporting including Risk-Weighted Asset attribution analysis and large dataset examination.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and documentation for stakeholders and management.
- Support SOX controls, audit procedures, and governance compliance activities.
- Respond to ad hoc reporting requests and regulatory inquiries as needed.
Education and Experience Requirements
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Finance, Business, Accounting, Economics, Commerce, Risk Management, or related fields.
- Over 4 years of experience in Business Analysis, Change Management, Capital Reporting, Treasury, Risk Management, Financial Analytics, or comparable disciplines.
- Previous work within financial services, supporting regulatory reporting, capital or risk management, or treasury functions.
Technical Skills
- Proficient in change management practices and methodologies.
- Experience with JIRA and GitHub in project or change delivery contexts.
- Advanced capabilities in Microsoft Excel for data analysis, reporting, and reconciliation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience handling large data sets.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Capital Reporting and familiarity with OSFI Capital Adequacy Requirements guidelines.
- Knowledge of Credit Risk, Market Risk, Treasury, Regulatory Reporting, or Capital Management areas.
- Experience using Alteryx and/or Power BI.
- Understanding of financial reporting, accounting principles, and risk frameworks.
- Familiarity with SOX controls and governance processes.

Work Environment and Schedule
- Hybrid work format requiring presence onsite in Toronto, Ontario for four days per week.
- Working hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
- Some overtime, including occasional weekend support during quarter-end periods, may be necessary.
