Bolting & Torquing Technician

Company Overview

Exact Technical Solutions Company is seeking a skilled Bolting & Torquing Technician to operate within their operations department in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia. The role involves critical maintenance support during normal operations, shutdowns, and commissioning activities.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform manual torquing procedures on bolts up to 36 mm diameter.
• Conduct hydraulic torquing using equipment capable of handling bolts up to 155 mm.
• Carry out bolt tensioning on studs sizing between 2 3/8” to 4”.
• Inspect, prepare, and manage flange assemblies to assure joint integrity.
• Select and install gaskets properly according to job specifications.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with seized or damaged bolts during maintenance or shutdown events.
• Operate hydraulic torquing and tensioning tools safely and perform minor upkeep on these devices.
• Compile and submit Final Torque Reports and other relevant documentation.
• Adhere to approved procedures and industry standards such as API, ASME PCC-1-2022, and SAES-351.
• Comply strictly with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies, work permit regulations, and site safety protocols.

Qualifications & Skills

• Possess a High School Diploma or ITI/Vocational Certificate specializing in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Proven hands-on experience in bolting and torquing tasks within industrial maintenance, shutdowns, or commissioning projects.
• Strong understanding of flange management techniques and selecting appropriate gaskets.
• Competence in operating hydraulic bolting and tensioning machinery safely.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills and precise attention to detail.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety and ability to collaborate effectively in team settings.

Certifications & Registrations

• ECITB Bolting Competency or OEM Certification relevant to bolting activities.
• Preferably holds OSHA or NEBOSH safety certification.
• Certified as a Work Permit Receiver (WPR).

Work Environment & Conditions

• Work is performed at various industrial and field locations.
• Exposure to environmental conditions such as heat, noise, and heavy-duty equipment is expected.
• Strict use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to safety regulations are mandatory.
• May require shift work, overtime, and extended working hours especially during shutdown or commissioning phases.
