Position Summary
This role is based within the Department of Health and Human Services at the National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases in Atlanta, Georgia. The recruitment process will close either upon receiving 150 applications or at the official closing date, whichever happens first.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate scientific and public health initiatives through effective strategic planning, prioritization, and allocation of resources.
- Review scientific and administrative materials to ensure adherence to agency policies, scientific standards, and regulatory mandates.
- Manage quality systems, including initiating corrective actions and resolving quality-related issues impacting laboratory and program functions.
- Oversee safety and occupational health operations to maintain organizational compliance with established standards.
- Provide leadership with advice on program development, resource allocation, and operational optimizations.
Qualifications
Basic Education Requirement: Possession of a degree in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or other related fields relevant to the position. Alternatively, a combination of education and experience equivalent to a major in these disciplines is acceptable.
Minimum Experience: One year of specialized experience at the GS-13 federal grade equivalent undertaking all responsibilities mentioned above.
Preferred Qualification: Candidates holding a doctoral degree (PhD) are preferred.
