Role Overview
The Bima Sakhi position is a full-time, on-location job based in Coimbatore, focused on identifying prospective clients and assisting them in understanding and selecting LIC’s insurance solutions tailored to their financial objectives. The role involves consistent face-to-face interactions, follow-up meetings, supporting paperwork for policy issuance, and ongoing customer support concerning renewals and claims. Collaboration with branches and the team to meet sales and service benchmarks is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Locate potential customers and explain various LIC insurance offerings.
- Assist individuals and families in choosing plans that align with their financial needs.
- Conduct regular personal meetings and follow-ups to nurture client relationships.
- Support the process of policy documentation and issuance.
- Provide ongoing assistance for policy renewals and claim procedures.
- Keep organized basic records of client engagements and communications.
- Engage in local marketing activities and partner with LIC branch personnel to reach sales goals.
Qualifications and Skills
- Strong verbal communication and interpersonal abilities to engage a diverse clientele and form durable relationships.
- Basic proficiency in sales and customer service skills, with an aptitude to assess client requirements and present insurance products clearly.
- Effective organizational and time management capacities to coordinate multiple client meetings, follow-ups, and administrative tasks.
- Basic numeracy and financial literacy to accurately discuss premium rates, benefits, and features.
- Familiarity with the local languages spoken in Coimbatore and competency in basic computer operations for record maintenance and digital tool usage.
- Minimum educational attainment equivalent to higher secondary school (12th grade) or higher; prior exposure to insurance, financial services, or direct sales is advantageous.
- Capability to work autonomously at the workplace, travel locally for client visits, and uphold professionalism consistent with LIC’s standards.
