About the Role
The BIM Coordinator will oversee and coordinate Building Information Modeling (BIM) activities for major infrastructure projects in Qiddiya, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The role focuses on integrating multi-disciplinary BIM models including civil, structural, utilities, and MEP disciplines, managing model federations, and ensuring adherence to BIM Execution Plans (BEP), ISO 19650 standards, and utilizing a Common Data Environment (CDE).
Primary Responsibilities
- Coordinate BIM models across various disciplines such as civil, structural, utilities, and MEP according to BEP and ISO 19650 compliance.
- Manage federated models, file splitting tactics, and Common Data Environment workflows.
- Conduct clash detection, lead coordination meetings, and address design conflicts efficiently.
- Develop and maintain infrastructure models using software including Civil 3D, Revit, and Naviswork.
- Integrate BIM models with 4D scheduling and 5D cost estimation as required.
- Ensure all deliverables align with project quality and standards.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is mandatory.
- A minimum of 8 years’ experience in infrastructure design and construction such as roads, utilities, drainage, bridges, and rail systems.
- Over 5 years of proven experience in hands-on BIM coordination, focusing on multi-disciplinary model integration on active projects rather than only modeling tasks.
- Familiarity with BIM Execution Plans and management of Common Data Environments like BIM 360 or Aconex.
- Expertise in clash detection, model federation, and conducting coordination meetings with designers and contractors to resolve conflicts.
- Experience implementing Construction Operations Building Information Exchange (CoBIE) standards for data handover and asset management.
- Advantageous exposure to 4D construction sequencing and 5D cost integration for infrastructure projects.
- Strong skills in Civil 3D particularly for alignments, profiles, corridors, grading, pipe/pressure networks, junctions, and roundabouts.
- Proficiency in Navisworks for model federation, clash detection, viewpoint creation, and reporting.
- Working knowledge of Revit focusing on structural, tunnels, buildings, and MEP elements connected with infrastructure projects, including automation using Dynamo.
- Ability to handle large federated models involving roads, utilities, bridges, and underground works, including strategy formulation for federation, file splitting, and coordination zones definition.
