Job description
Role Summary
We are actively recruiting a Big Data Engineer to join our client's team on a full-time, remote basis. This position entails architecting, constructing, and sustaining scalable data processing pipelines for both real-time and batch operations. The engineer will partner closely with various cross-functional groups to uphold data accuracy and accessibility throughout the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and deploy ETL/ELT workflows to assimilate, transform, and load data from diverse origins into data warehouses and lakes.
- Develop and refine data models tailored for analytics and reporting purposes.
- Work in collaboration with data scientists and analysts to guarantee data quality and availability for downstream use cases.
- Oversee pipeline operation and resolve issues to sustain reliability and performance.
- Establish and maintain procedures for data governance, security, and compliance adherence.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Proficient in Python and SQL, with hands-on experience using data pipeline orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow or equivalents.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms including AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Microsoft Azure, especially their data services like BigQuery, Redshift, and S3.
- Strong knowledge of data warehousing strategies and dimensional modeling techniques.
- Experience with big data frameworks such as Apache Spark and Hadoop, as well as streaming technologies like Kafka.
- Understanding of data governance, metadata management, and quality control methodologies.
