Role Overview
Elabs Infotech is hiring an AWS Database Migration Engineer for a full-time role based in Pune, India, with an opportunity to work across PAN India projects. The position is focused on moving Microsoft SQL Server workloads into AWS and supporting the surrounding database architecture, reliability, and performance needs.

This role requires 8+ years of relevant experience.
Core Technical Skills
- Hands-on administration and migration experience with Microsoft SQL Server versions 2014, 2016, 2017, and 2019
- Working knowledge of AWS Database Migration Service for database movement
- Experience with Amazon RDS for SQL Server environments
- Ability to use AWS Schema Conversion Tool for schema transformation
- Strong understanding of SQL Server high availability methods such as Always On, Failover Clustering, and Log Shipping
- Capability in performance tuning, query optimization, and T-SQL scripting
- Awareness of database security controls including TDE, encryption, and auditing
- Exposure to infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation
- Experience in migration testing, cutover planning, and rollback preparation
Responsibilities
The engineer will be responsible for planning and carrying out SQL Server migrations into AWS, while ensuring the target environment is stable, secure, and optimized.
- Design and execute SQL Server migration activities to AWS platforms
- Set up and maintain Amazon RDS for SQL Server instances
- Apply AWS DMS and AWS SCT during migration and schema conversion workflows
- Build high availability, backup, recovery, and security solutions for databases
- Validate migrations, test performance, and resolve issues during and after cutover
- Create detailed runbooks, cutover plans, and rollback steps for migration events
- Automate cloud infrastructure deployment using Terraform or CloudFormation
Preferred Certifications
- AWS Certified Database Specialty
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate
- Microsoft SQL Server certifications
