Role overview
This is a full-time, hourly leadership role based at the Myrtle Beach, SC bakery store located at 1177 Celebrity Circle, Suite 435, Myrtle Beach, SC 29577. The position is intended to build the next wave of Bakery Operations Managers. It expects the person in the role to work at nearly the same level as a BOM, running bakery operations with speed, precision, and ownership while developing the skills required to independently lead a bakery.
The role combines day-to-day operational execution, team development, administrative responsibility, and people leadership. The Assistant Bakery Operations Manager serves as a direct extension of the Bakery Operations Manager and must be ready to take full control of the bakery when needed.
Operational responsibilities
- Carry out essential bakery functions such as inventory rotation, staffing coordination, scheduling support, and completion of administrative checklists.
- Keep product quality, sanitation, food safety, and guest experience standards consistently high.
- Assist with ordering, inventory control, and reduction of shrink.
- Help build schedules and manage labor so operational goals are met.
Team leadership and development
- Support hiring efforts, including recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training new team members.
- Provide ongoing coaching and immediate performance feedback.
- Set clear expectations and hold team members accountable while supporting a culture of improvement and growth.
- Make sure onboarding and training programs are delivered according to company standards.
Ownership and coverage
- Run bakery operations on your own when the Bakery Operations Manager is unavailable.
- Show urgency, discipline, and accountability in daily work.
- Work with the BOM and area leadership to spot operational issues and put solutions in place.
- Keep operations steady during leadership changes or staffing gaps.
